Hello everyone!

My name is Dani (she/her) and I'm a Surveyor In Training in Austin, Texas. I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geographic Information Science at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in 2019. I'm a Senior Survey Technician and I've been in the surveying industry for about five years now. Typically most people learn about land surveying from family members or start off the industry as a rodman working in the field, I was lucky enough to have it as an option at my university, and I'm so glad I pursued it because I very much enjoy what I do. I do as much as I can to help promote land surveying in my community and back home to let women, minor groups and the younger generations know about this career field and the opportunities in this industry. I plan on taking my PS exam next spring, so any advice/guidance/study material reference is appreciated. I'll be able to sit for my TSSE in 2026, and I plan on getting licensed in more states after that. I usually attend surveying events such as my TSPS chapter meetings, the TSPS convention, the Women Surveyors Summit, and the Minority Surveyors Summit. When I'm not working and studying, I enjoy going to concerts, traveling, working out, and hanging out with my two dogs (a shih tzu, 5 years old, and a American bulldog/dachshund mix, 11 years old).

My boyfriend introduced and encouraged me to be a part of this online community. He's learned a lot from being on here, and I look forward to learning and connecting with y'all as well. This is my first time being part of a forum/community like this, so please be patient with me, I'm still learning, haha. I look forward to meeting and connecting with y'all 😀

Welcome to the group!

This group is a wealth of information across all types of surveying/business/licensure. You name it, someone on here has done or is doing it and will happily share their experiences, both good and bad.
