Cripes! I hope it's not because they are shy or not wanting to expose themselves to criticism or something foolish like that. I don't know at least half of what everyone is talking about on this board, but I'm sure learning from a great bunch of people (even those in P&R 😉 )

And besides there's lots of great pictures too!

Y'all have a great week! B-)

I fall in the "if I don't have anything meaningful/ useful to contribute (to most threads, once in a while I just have to insert a wise-a$$ comment), I don't bother"

Many times I would not be up for the deserved abuse when I say something goofy or wrong......

Personally speaking, I am a better listener than a mouth-runner.
And I was taught that if I had nothing [useful] to say, then don't say anything at all. Suppose that's one lesson I follow pretty well. Same goes for the ole "do unto others....." lesson.

I post when I have a sarcastic remark or if I can actually contribute. Many times what I want to post has already been done and I don't like to be redundant.B-)

> Recognizing that 500 different readers out there are deciding which post is good, which is better, and which is best, I'll rather keep quiet than to post a half-baked comment.
>

Right there is the most cogent argument in my opinion. Especially the keep quiet part - as I do.

> I've posted ocassionally in the hope that someone might benefit from it. As a retired college prof I'd like to think that the information I post is "good" but I also recognize that others may have differing opinions or access to better information. I'm happy to say that I continue to learn from responses to my comments. In my opinion, "the board is functioning well."
>

There is always a pearl in someone else's wisdom/experience.

> Carry on the good work - and keep on asking "reflection type" questions.
[just to be a smarty] Is that reflection or refraction? 🙂

I generally respond to threads but then again,

> I'm one of those people who can be an expert without actually knowing anything about the topic.

I'd consider you an expert...in the syrup department. 🙂 😉

One reason is that the only thing I have to talk about on here is surveying.

The only experience I have surveying is working for other people.

I am not sure how they would feel about me sharing stories both good and bad of their projects and procedures.

That is also why I do not use my government name.

I would have surely thought that you were here to have a good time and offer cooking as a lifestyle to fall back on

:-O

I probably delete as much as I actually post. My typing will tend to ramble on some days.

Why do so many of you never post and only read?>Why does it

Why do only a few people run the State Surveyors Assoc. throughout the country, Why do a few parents make up the PTA's? Or any other group situation?

It's simply because EVERYONE HAS DIFFERING PRIORITIES!!!! And it's not right to try and force yours on others!!

I run into this all the time. I serve on the State BOD for the surveying assoc. as well as volunteer for the Town Capital Planning Committee.... yet sometimes someone says "how come you don't help out with the parents group at the school?" as if I have some sort of obligation to sell christmas trees for the music department just because they do....

So, Live and let live...

Sometimes, what I want to post has already been posted and I don't want to be redundant. If I do post, it's usually to be sarcastic, or, I might actually have something to contribute.

😉

Cheers,

Radar

I only post what God tells me to post.
Yopu may notice bad typing or mispelled words but that is only me typing in tougues so to speak.

But.. I do notice that the amount of users on the bottom of the page usually reflect a 30%/70% split on registerd users and guests(lurkers) with the high numbers being around 10o-110 online di=uring the week. I think there are just so many active users. I noticed this on the old board whne we did the fund drive for Michael.

I am pretty sure if someone strted a post along with photos about which supermodels, actresses or singers that one would want on their surevy crew that input would go viral here.
