If anyone else is having problems loading this page?? It seems to be hanging up quite a bit lately. All other tabs working just fine. Since it's not graphic intensive, I can't figure out why it's acting up.

Anyone else?

The initial response time has been slow for me as well - that is comparing it to other internet pages. Once it gets started it finishes OK.

Yes, it has been slow loading.

It's possible your anti-virus software is taking a long look at it before it allows it to open.

So slow loading that often it will not come up and I have to load Beer Leg, then load Surveyor Connect.
Plus, down here, MSN's web page keeps disappearing. :-O

Slow As Molasses

Yep, always has been slow for me. The only other site I hit that is this slow is a newspaper with HEAVY advertisement.

Because of the way this forum is setup, there's a lot of information that initially loads. So when you first visit, there's always a pause. Even on my 25Mbps cable internet service, there is a pause because of the site software. Once I'm on though, things load a bit more quickly, although there's still a bit of a pause when clicking a link back to the home page (as opposed to just hitting the back button).

The site is on a pretty speedy server, but the software itself is the biggest hangup. I built the site using this premise by popular demand and unfortunately, speed is one of its shortcomings. That said, there are some upgrades available that will hopefully speed things up, but time is not my friend at the moment. I do hope to have the upgrades installed by the end of April, however.

Also, if you are experiencing very, very slow speeds, that is likely either one of the "hops" between you and this server, your ISP or a combination of the two. Also consider that if this server is sending data a bit slower than other sites and your connection has performance issues (via hops or your ISP), the slowness may be exaggerated.

I would be willing to bet that the majority of folks having trouble with slow loading are using DSL, satellite or some sort of wireless connection (such as a Verizon MiFi), because those types of connections have high initial connection time (sorry, I can't remember the proper term, but it's basically the time it takes for the connection to resolve between you and the internet and with DSL is it particularly high). If your ISP is using DSL, they could promise 999Mbps and you'd still have that initial connection delay.
