As the title of the topic indicates, Import from Internet, when trying to download Rinex files from IGS networks, doesn't seem to be working reliably.?ÿ Sometimes it works, but most times it seems to fail to find any files.?ÿ Anyone else having this issue?
It could be a software bug, but off the top of my head, I would guess that the raw data for those sites and/or the ephemeris is not yet available. Not all stations push their data to servers at the same time (many only upload 24-hour files), and the ephemeris files are updated at regular intervals. If you are trying to process data gathered on the previous day, the files might not yet exist.

Maybe it is related to the "End of life" of the software was 7 years ago.
I had to buy the latest Topcon Magnet after the last GPS rollover date. My Topcon Tools v7.x, GNSS Solutions, Sokkia Spectrum all stopped working without any notice from the developers. It was all obsolete anyway. Was not using them regularly too so I was not sure if it was due to my latest update to Windows 10. All were working in Windows XP & Win 7 but I no longer have older laptops with those OS on them. If you need simple post processing functions then try to use RTKLib. It's a freeware and is fairly simple to use. I think I got the basic functions to work in less than a day of playing around with it.
I don't want to scare you... but I am/was running Tools 8.2.x?ÿ and used it to process a static network last fall.?ÿ Standard practice for me, tied to 2 CPs and a few other receivers running a the same time, 99% open sky, and a 40min session as I remember.?ÿ That position had great residuals, and everything looks 100% perfect.?ÿ I had to return to the location, and run a session on another point about 15 feet away by tape.?ÿ Processed data showed those 2 points were 30 feet apart???ÿ I started running my original data through OPUS and DPOS as an independent check, which agreed with each other by several hundreths, and the recomputed position was about 15ft from the second shot - indicating that the original data was good, the processing was just plain wrong by about 15 feet!!!!?ÿ I was later talking with a surveyor from another company about processing software, and he said he had the exact same thing happen with that vintage of Tools - incorrect solutions with good data.?ÿ He dumped it the previous year.
?ÿ
The result is I am looking at the different programs out there to see what is the best value for the money for the little static data I process.
Magnet Tools about $1840
Carlson is about $1800
I want to take a look at the $620 [iGage.com] CHCNav CGO2 (CHC Geomatics Office Version 2.0) ?ÿsince I am very likely going to replace 2 ancient static receivers with a pair of iGage4 later this year.
I may go back and look at Javad Justin again - last time I looked, it seemed kinda complex from what I do.
?ÿ
I am looking at compatability with my receivers (mix of topcon & Javad, soon iGage), also simplicity - yet be able to look at the results to see if the static data & position is good (assuming the software does not lie to me! Lol)

So.... sorry to drone on, but you may want to bring that software into current status and this is from someone that don't want to let go of Win7!
Whoa! You're scaring me! I've been using Topcon Tools v.8.2.x for a long time now and I even keep it updated by pulling in files from a Topcon Magnet demo install. I've never noticed errors like this, but perhaps I've not caught them. My main use is setting control point pairs via Rapid Static where I don't have radio signal; conventional checks between those pairs have been good. I am aware of an issue with Topcon Tools screwing up Ground Coordinates by calculating in incorrect Combined Scale Factor. I always go back into the Grid-to-Ground configuration and manually correct the CSF that Tools computed. Could this be the problem by chance? Or are you strictly talking Grid coordinates? Does this issue seem isolated to certain projections or does it seem more random (indicating the software is just plain untrustworthy)? I am shopping for new post-processing software myself, but it may be awhile until I get something. I guess I better submit all of my points to OPUS-RS for at least another check. (In fact, I'm going to submit points I did a week or two ago right now.)

My info comes from a single point, and possibly one other point which I had issues with. Yes, seems harsh to burn software on one result, but this was a perfect GPS setup, open skies, and plenty of data, processed to several other receivers - just a plain wrong answer. The exact same data was processed by another program, and also OPUS RS & Javad on-line. All 3 of the answers agreed with each other within reason - and different then the tools result. This is out in the middle of nowhere, so there was no interference of any kind - not even cell signal. I discussed this with another local firm, and they said they went away from Tools 8 because of this exact problem - random results, with great statistics, just wrong answers. Scares the hell out of me enough I am done with it.
I don't know their exact settings, however we were using it on similar work. Exporting State Plane Coordinates - nothing exotic.
Personally I did all of my CSF work in CAD.
Used Topcon and now Magnet Tools for years. probably 100+ network adjustments. Never seen this. Also a quick nRTK check on the results always gives you the warm fuzzy.
