After griping again recently about the button-push sounds used by the Triumph-LS, I decided to make some changes. The ones that were bothering me the most were, understandably, also the ones I use the most: Stop, Accept and Reject on the Collect screen. Here's what they sound like in stock configuration:

And here's what I got after substituting sound files:

The substitutions were made by choosing sounds I found on my system (I did a global search for *.wav) that seemed appropriate, making a copy of the .wav file, renaming it to the original Javad assigned name, and copying it over to the receiver in the Sounds folder. Here are the substitutions I made:
STOP
Javad: radiolink-ok.wav
Substitute: avoidance-warning.wav
ACCEPT
Javad: apply_ok.wav
Substitute: fill.wav
REJECT
Javad: apply_error.wav
Substitute: avoidance.wav
Note that apply_error.wav is the same sound as bulleye_out.wav, and I don't know which was was actually assigned to REJECT, so I substituted avoidance.wav for both of them.
This was a mostly a proof-of-concept exercise, but I'll live with these sounds for awhile and then decide whether I like them enough to keep them.
So Nate, if you really want Beethoven's 5th for your Accept sound, you just need to find a .wav copy of it and make the switch.
Well, I know there are canned sounds, already selectable there. But, I'd like to be able to USE the LS, (it has a microphone) to MAKE the WAV files, that I use. This way, ANY sound I can hear, it can record, and use.
This way, no copyright issues, and folks can simply use what they like.
I can see this thing making some pretty cool sounds. I'd love to mess with somebody's LS, and put some JUDGE JUDY in it.
When you REJECT a shot, it says some insulting thing..... like she'd say!!! I can only imagine!
Or some of the Star Wars sounds, or Star Trek.
I don't know. It just seems like it could be alot of fun!
N
WOW!!!
That IS annoying.
A major improvement.
OK, I was out on this job. And, the LS was pecking away, acquiring a shot. And, this guy comes up, and says: "Can I record that? I believe I could call a turkey up with that sound!".
It's just not what I was expecting!
Here is A short youtube video, showing the sounds he was referring to:
