Dear all,
We installed in South Kivu a Leica GR1230 as a permanent station. Raw data is registered and transmitted via internet through a serial port of the receiver. This serial port is connected with a Raspberry Pi microcomputer (Linux) on which the raw data is first stored before transmission. Data is registered as a Leica native format named ".Leica" that is different from the native LB2 or RINEX format that we can process. This was the only format available during configuration of the GR1230 receiver.

Up to now we did not manage to convert this ‰Û÷.leica‰Ûª format to a RINEX or LB2 format (using LGO or application online). Somebody who can help us with that? Many thanks in advance!

Via this link you can find an example of our ‰Û÷.leica‰Ûª files:

Dropbox Logo Dropbox File (Private or Invalid)

Also, we have converted this file from ascii hexadecimal format to binary using xxd -r ‰ÛÒp. The file name ending is arbitrary (here ‰Û÷.lei‰Ûª), we have no idea what it should really be.

Best regards,

Elise Monsieurs

Ms. Monsieurs,
Hello again, I hope you are well. When the others start to wake up, you will receive good answers. One possibility is 'Spider Web' software from Leica Geosystems. Spider Web is a processor for CORS (continuously operating reference station) type systems and is an automated RINEX converter.

Hi,
Thank you for your quick response, I am fine thank you !
Spider Web does not work on Linux and is an expensive license. If there would be another way, would be great.

Hello Elise,
not sure if the link above will help you any further,
RTKLIB does a lot more than RTK, it processes also Static Data, converts a lot of formats but I'm not sure it can handle the Leica format.

We have Leica GS15 GPS receivers and we purchased the option to allow them to collect Static data in a RINEX format. You may be able to get the same option for you GR1230. It is slick for static processing.

I know this is about a month old, BUT if you are still looking for a solution, https://www.unavco.org/software/data-processing/teqc/teqc.html&apos ;">TEQC will convert the Leica *.m00 binary files from the 1230 units and there is a Linux version of TEQC.

Thanks,

We know that teqc works for the m00 files (collected on the compact flash card), however, the serial stream is in some other format‰Û?.

cheers
Elise
