Hi guys,

We want to use R8s as our base station and use NTRIP caster ( we are using TSC3 controller+ Trimble Access) to send the correction to our rover. Did anyone know the configuration in the WebUi?

Really need some guidance here. Thank you.

I'm not sure the R8s has the possibility to do this. You would need an ethernet port to connect the base to the internet, and I don't believe it has one.

SPS855 is a good and economical base station that will fit your needs.

The connection might be possible over Bluetooth or WiFi, if those are available on the receiver.?ÿ I can't help with the R8s setup, but I know that my Javad base sends corrections to my Verizon Jetpack via WiFi.

It's got bluetooth and cellular connections but these will be for connecting to controller and RTK network,

The cellular would be the one but I really doubt it will transmit ie NTRIP caster.

I would expect the caster to be a separate box, connected by BT (or maybe serial).?ÿ But I'm out of my depth on this, I needed a lot of help getting my Javad Triumph-2 set up to use a TCP connection to the Jetpack.?ÿ It works great, but I dread the day I might have to reconfigure it.

It is easy to do with an R10, not sure about the R8s. The only thing needed for an R10 is a SIM card. It has an NTRIP server/caster built in.?ÿ

To do it with our R7 and R8 model 2's (which only have serial output) I use an external cell modem (with serial port) and an NTRIP caster in the office. Connect serial cable from GPS receiver to modem, and this connects to office over cell. I set the radio on the R7/R8 to be custom radio. This setup works reliably.?ÿ

I don't believe the R8 can do it by itself.?ÿ You can ask your dealer about an Intuicom RTK-Bridge. The bridge can handel your cellular and NTRIP needs.

Can that transmit NTRIP over cellular internet (ie NTRIP caster)? Or is it for receiving NTRIP connections?

Yes, depending on the model a RTK Bridge can be your NTRIP host to over 10 rover

That's cool - they need to promote that a bit more.

hadn't see that before. assuming you have 3 or less base stations what is the disadvantage of the free version?

do the "unlimited" clients slow it down? i suppose it depends on the computer speed and port routing.

I used the free version for a while, not really any disadvantage that I can recall. However, I always feel that I should support any software that I find useful, so I upgraded to the next step. Cost me about $450 if I recall, which is a small price to pay for the usefulness of the program.?ÿ

The Intuicom bridge is an expensive solution, around $3500 or $4000. I do have an Intuicom RTK bridge, an older model that only relays the data (i.e. no NTRIP caster or server functionality).?ÿ

John, true on the Intuicom bridge costs, BUT that is also our base station radio, no UHF's any longer so if you use the bridge as your base station radio as well as the access point to the internet it is pretty slick all in one tool.
