A quick show of hands, please... Who all is doing some of these this week?

How many, and where in Oregon?

Thanks!

I hope to be able to contribute some observation tie this year, but this week has not been a good time. I have been catching up on fieldwork. My field time has been extremely limited the last month due to weather conditions.

I did two last Sunday (yeah, during the big storm - wind and rain, not space), west of Corvallis.

I looked at quite a number of "high value" lines through the Cascades but the ones nearest are either along highways with many trees, or along railroad tracks. Besides problems with access and permissions along the RR r/w, I don't cotton to occupying a "brass cap in railroad bridge abutment" right next to the tracks.

Southeast Oregon looks pretty wide open with many BMs along major roads. Again, one problem is that the really high value ones are along roads or trails I'd rather not travel with a single vehicle. Too far to walk to a road with the occasional vehicle and possible help if you break down.

I am sending the crew out today to observe the station located below. Did some recon on it a couple years back, but decided not to include it. So hopefully there is some nice weather along the beach today.

Looks like a good place to "guard" a receiver and antenna for 4+ hours... 🙂

I think Mr. "Ducks Unlimited" said he'd be heading down to the Klamath Falls area this next week. I forgot to ask him if he's doing any while he's there. I haven't posed the question to NGS (or Mark)about "late" submissions for the campaign yet... 🙂

Turning to rain here today, but I may try to knock one out if the planning software matches up with my schedule!

I was thinking of doing the one south of station Kiger on 99 by Herbert road.... or the one at Grant and 29th that NGS used as part of a level circuit to the CORV B, up in Woodland Meadow Park @ Witham Hill and Circle. AI6286, says not suitable for GPS but I thought it might be worth a try with one of the new fangled R10 units...

We de 8 marks this week and I plan to get 2 more on Saturday. That are all in Arkansas. If you can't do a high value mark get a repeat on something. They want lots of redundancy.

Not this week either but we are planning on a field trip as a class to shoot a couple. Thinking about out in the Olympics.
