I have a collection of hundreds of the old plats from either a BLM office or NARA that were found in a house that was being demolished.
There are some very old copied plats dated from the 1860s all mounted on the linen as per the process in the day.
I'll post a few for reference to see what I'm describing, and not sure what people are going to or willing to pay for them.
I've started framing the ones I've looked at, majority are from the southern border of Colorado and New Mexico, some central Colorado and then the northern border of Colorado and Wyoming.
Will you be posting a separate topic for each plat for sale, or is this a single sale for a batch of plats? Thanks!
wide open, the books weigh about 40 lbs or so each, so not shipping the bunch and I figure for the cause, each page carries a higher value than say 10 or 100 pages, bulk discounts for all, the money is going to the site. Still trying to see where the sweet spot for frugal penny pinchers and art appreciation exists at now..maybe 5 dollars a sheet, maybe more if it's a particular cool and famous Surveyor General whom signed it (again these are copies, old as Holy Cow and more for sure!)
I'll try to spend an hour a day photographing each page and then put up a link to view. Then you can pick and choose from anything that tickles your fancy.
thanks for the question, it helps define the focus of the process.
carry on.
another example of an 1879 page from Denver region
Nifty idea. I bet many will get purchased for general office display. I would need to add a wall to have much of any wall space.
What are the dimensions? I am most interested in the northern Wyoming plats.
The pages are 17.75"x20.75"
the northern border of Colorado and southern border of Wyoming.
Not in it's entirety.
I'll start taking more photos, I've been busy with work and other things to keep me busy.
Thank you. When you have a moment, please email me at DWOOLLEY@DWOOLLEY.COM
I am interested in purchasing several of the maps.

If you have any around Estes Park, I'm in!
If you have any around Estes Park, I'm in!
I'll poke around.
time is the only limiting factor
Grab three to five and post a photo of each. Let's see where this will go. I'll offer $15 sight unseen for one you have.
Any in SW Wyoming or Utah? How about Baggs, WY? I’m happy to do $15 each as well.
here's a few from the Wyoming Territory
I need to just get these onto a access web page, my crappy cell phone combines with everything else just makes them pixelated.
Bear with me, I'm trying to find time to do this, work, move out of storage unit, and accept my rental fate for another year, and try to have a little bit of a life too.
thanks for your patience and interest, if you PM me ill take your information and send you the goods once i can find a source for tubes that will protect them. Hitting up the carpet stores etc..
these are for the fundraiser, so i'll do my best to get them available asap.

I'd be interested in any from the SW corner of Wyoming and if you had any up into the Wind River Range or the Tetons.
Extending the time not much progress and now the PM thingy works again HMU if you're still interested in the cause.
Definitely interested in the cause. I'm afraid most have forgotten this thread that started nearly two months ago.
Might do a PM to each of us who expressed interest previously. First, though, you might check on mailing expense so we can have a solid figure to add to our donation to SurveyorConnect for our total out of pocket. I'm still interested in getting one or more, but, would like to see more examples of what you have.
I buy things via auction where you pay a 10 percent bid premium to the auction company. So bidding $600 on something commits you to spending $660. Buyers must keep that thought in mind. On some items they also charge whatever the sales tax is for your location. So that number might end up being over $700.
Roger that, I self bumped to do those very things.
I need to get the collection available to pick through and set up a select or some functionality to let me see what people are wanting.
not designed will use a pre built something.
thanks for reaching out.
