Ok I have an older TOPCON 802A robot sitting in my office for 3 years. It has an issue with tracking. From what I remember, the RC-III isn't working with the gun. I have SATEL 3ASD radios, 3 batteries, chargers, etc. I will send you everything I have....no DC though.
I'm not sure if the RC can be fixed, from what I understand, parts made by TOPCON are not being made. But like i said from what I remember it won't 'dog whistle' over the robot. I think if your just starting out, or need a back up instrument its worth it.
Here's the catch. First you pay for shipping. Second, if you decide to keep it, then feel free to pay me what you think its worth ($10,000 would be awesome B-)). If you don't want it, then you pay to send it back or donate it to a college.
Interested?? send an email to Codespoti3@aol dot com...of course 10.04% of any payment goes to surveyconnect.com
A few years ago we found an outfit who completely repaired our TopCon Robot. I might be able to find the paperwork this week, or it may have to wait until next week when office manager returns from Central America.

If I understand correctly, the gun seems fine; the problem is with the RC-3? Are you sure it might not be something simple, like a circuit board connector, or internal cable? Can you tell if the laser is working?
I'm not a current Topcon user, but wasn't the RC-3 made for the 9000 series? Is it compatible with the older 800 series total stations? Maybe picking up an RC-2 to replace the RC-3 may fix the problem. Just a thought.
Yes, The gun works. I will double check it today sometime. I did send it out for repair, and the dealer said, that he could not get it to work with the RC unit.
Email sent (just in case, keep an eye on your junk mail folder).
Thx.

They repaired our GPT-8003A in 2010 and were apparently able to track down some discontinued parts. I cannot find a web presence for them, so I gave you all our contact information. I ran a GE search for the address and it looks like a residence. They did well for us, so here is hoping they can help you if you need it.
Thanks for the info.
If Troy Deaton can't fix it, throw it away.
Yes, Troy is the man!
I am currently working with someone for the robot. Thanks!
