I used to have a 8000 series Topcon Robot. What is the battery/charger situation? Do you have the 12v "car battery" converter cable? Also, I had Satels, how do the blue tooth radios work? Range? They look smaller, which is a good thing. Is that black box with the antenna the gun or rod radio?

One more question ... does the rod radio use a 9-pin connection to the Recon? I'm asking because I'd perfer to use my Ranger with Survey Pro Max which only has a 9-pin I/O port.

Thanks.

I have been running it with the 12v inverter from Hayes connected to a small 12v battery (car jump box from walmart is what I use). I can include this in the deal.

The black box is the rod radio and it runs with 4AAA batteries or a 9V. It will run for 2 days or more on fresh batteries (I use rechargeables). The gun radio is in an alum. case and runs off of power from the gun.

I routinely get 800' out of the bluetooth radios. I have heard they will work out to 1200' but have never ran them that far. The average range on a site here in GA is 300-400'.

You can't touch this setup for less than $9k at the dealers or ebay.

what is emi?

it is time for this one to find a new home. i have it and a 8003 just like it. back in the day both ran almost every day. now we are lucky if one sees action a couple of times a week. it has fully depreciated off of my books so it just costing me money in personal property tax hanging around the office.

i would love to see a new solo guy end up with this gun.
