I just got registered to sit for the Virginia State exam in April 2013 (licensed currently in WV).

Any advice from VA surveyors on study materials that may help?

I have downloaded current VA codes and own all the standard "must have" text books (Blacks Law, Boundary Control and Legal Principles, Evidence and Procedures, Etc). It has been awhile since I had to study for a test and I am under quite a bit of pressure from the "Powers That Be" to pass on the 1st try......so I am trying to gain every edge possible. This is where all you wonderful, knowledgable VA Surveyors come in (hopefully flattery gets me somewhere..lol). Seriously....ANY advice on study materials or strategies would be much appreciated. Thanks ahead.

Jason

Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Handbook
VDOT Survey Manual
VDOT Drainage Manual
VDOT Road and Bridge Standards
Chesapeake Bay Local Assistance Manual

Those are the materials I remember off the top of my head. I took it in 2011. It is a tough test. If I remember correctly, the board has a document with a list of recommended references.
