I will be taking my PS Exam next Monday, July 20, 2026. I’ve studied the Surveyors Reference Manual and Browns. Anyone have any advice or recommendations before I take the exam?

Thanks in advance

know your legal descriptions (Wattles) and ALTA standards too. I will also recommend surveybible.com it has great resources.

I believe that the PS is still a multiple choice exam. Assuming that is the case, while there may be questions about legal descriptions I can't see there being any need to write one. That may come on the state test.

It may be late in your game for this advice, but there are several sample exam books that, IMO, are must haves. So helpful for getting the feel of the kind of questions that will be asked, and the nature of the offered optional answers. Remember that in the majority of cases it isn't necessary to work out answers to the decimal point, but rather you must recognize which three of the four options are absurd.

When taking the exam, do the easy questions you know first and skip the harder questions where you need time to think. You don't want to get "stuck". Points matter so answering 45 questions we are confident about gets us those easy points.

Another thing, sometimes you will get lucky and one question will answer another question or get you pointed in the right direction.

My app, Azimuth Prep, we have 550 FS questions. Have 3 free quick quizzes when you download. Give those a shot if you just want some quick practice.
