..is it worth to buy it?
IBusiness Management Handbook by Bill Beardslee, PLS, PE, PP
If you mean the one by Dan Beardslee, yes, it is well worth it, but only if you have the courage to actually follow his advice. He is correct, make no mistake about that, but the path to success can be scary.
I bought it a long time ago. It is a good reference book. I have followed a lot of his advice.
I bought the book in about 2003 or so, and I opened my business in July/August of 2007. I have been in business roughly 6.5 years.
Arguably one of best books about the business of land surveying ever written.

Where do you get it?
OK, I see it here A Business Management Handbook for Land Surveyors.
I never bought the book, but I try to run my business with what I think is one of his maxims.
Charge twice as much and work half as much.

No, sorry not Bill Beardslee. I haven't read his book. I was referring to Dan Beardslee:
"Dan Beardslee has been an employee, a partner, and an owner of private land surveying practices, spanning 31 years. He obtained his Washington State survey license in 1975, and is an expert in Washington State boundary issues, well versed in land-use matters, and is widely regarded as a leader in the implementation of GIS for surveying firms. He is the author of numerous publications including, Land Surveying for the Land Owner and Real Estate Professional, and Management Handbook for Land Surveyors, and he is co-author of many publications including Beyond the Traverse Point (a text on land surveying practice), Receivables Management for the Practicing Professional and Washington Boundary Law and Adjoining Landowner Disputes. His articles have appeared in Professional Surveyor, POB, and in journals in Canada and New Zealand. Beardslee received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration (Economics) from Washington State University, has done post graduate work in economics at Skagit Valley College, City University, Wenatchee Valley College, and Western Washington University."

Ye, It's worth it.
While Bergeron's Pocket Guide to Business..... is more about the mechanics of management, Dan's book is more focused on attitude. Although both books cover some of each.
Fantastic book full of ideas that could solve many issues plaguing our profession.
Just saw the review of the book. Looks interesting, but amazon and bookdespository have not stock curently. Anyone knows where I may be able to find a copy?
My copy of Business Management Handbook for Land Surveyors, by Dan Beardslee, purchased +/-15 years ago, came in password protected pdf form. I don't know what's become of Dan. He may have retired. After he released the book he wrote a series of columns in Professional Surveyor magazine in which he pretty much republished the book in serial form. He continued his column for a while in American Surveyor.
In lieu of Business Management Handbook ... I recommend A Pocket Guide to Business for Engineers and Land Surveyors by H. Edmund Bergeron, which remains in print. But I would like to see a reprinting of Dan's book, too.

Best of luck, I have my name on two wait lists in the event this book comes up for sale.
A year and a half later, and not a whisper.

Maybe if we get enough numbers here we could get the publisher to reprint? or maybe put it as an ebook?
Just an idea let's try to gather the numbers first, then we could have some leverage.
I believe Dan is still alive and well in Wenatchee, WA, however he does seem to have disappeared off of any forums I currently subscribe to.
