I haven't followed this board or the other one much since the other one changed their format and everyone ran for the hills. I know Ted irritated many people but I sort of liked him. Does anyone keep in touch and know how he doing?

Happy New Year

Banned for life, from here anyway. Between his lack of maintaining some level of decency in this forum and his harassing and vulgar emails to me, I finally decided he wasn't worth all the work he was creating for us here. He was given a massive amount of chances to be nice and I was very patient with him for a long time. When I would notify him that he'd been temporarily banned (usually for 3 days or a week), he was write back with some snide comments... but the last time he got temporarily banned, he totally went off on me in multiple emails and that's when I decided I'd had enough.

Sorry.

I sometimes hear from Ted after a post he agrees with, but the last time was on the old RPLS Board. I am sure he lurks, and laughs.
Keep the faith Ted, I love you man!

He finally received what he had been asking for.

That's TDD's MO. He probably posted under 10 names on RPLS, each one eventually getting banned, so he'd make a new one and keep posting. The reason he's known as TDD (Ted Dura Dura) is because that's the name he started posting under after Ted Dura was banned. The moderation there left something to be desired.

IMHO Ted Dura is a Surveyor's surveyor.

Yup, he's olde school and has rough edges and that's Okay with me.

Some of his political rantings are in left field, but when it come to surveying, being the technical aspects, history of it or the piratical application of the art, he is spot on and I would put him up against any of you'll

I don't say this in his defense, he doesn't need me to do that for him.

Yes, he is and has always been a crusty ole cuz. And we need more of his type to foster this profession, because it's the candy azz types who are ruining it.

BTW, he told you that when gold was at $850/oz that it would go to $2,000/oz
most you guys just thought he was crazy, -- crazy as a fox

Some thought he was crazy when the said that Bush was going to change the American political structure in 2008 and become the President for life. Others thought he was crazy when he said that the "Clinton machine" would kill Obama before the Democratic primaries. Some thought he was crazy when he said that the primary intent of a description was the area. Some thought he was crazy when he inferred that all blacks weren't smart enough to be surveyors, or that all Mexicans were lazy and couldn't do anything but labor, or that a female couldn't run a survey business. Around 40% thought he was crazy when he inferred that Bush should be shot and that Bush was responsible for the bombing of the World Trade Center. A different 40% thought he was crazy when he inferred that Obama should be shot. Some thought he was crazy when he continuously sent them hateful emails.

But there are some who think he is some kind of great soothsayer and only speaks the truth and can predict the future.

I guess good ole' TDD is just something to everyone.;-)

I have seen a lot of his posts, likely wore his ass out surveying 500 acres in the morning then building a shed if the afternoon....everyday.

Him was potty trained wrong.
Him did not like to realize that some are more equal than others.
Him was prone to take unpopular points of view, and run them into the ground.

Need I say more?

Yup ... Don't forget that Chinese forces were building up on the Mexican border and an invasion was imminent. Or the plan of the government was to cordon off cities and states, enslave the citizens, and send us to work camps. Or that the UN had mobile cremation trucks roaming city to city killing everyone and disposing of the bodies ...

Ted's prediction on Gold is about the only thing he ever got half right ... I think gold peaked around 1800 and has now dropped back to 1500. Sure, nearly doubling your money would have been nice, but since the stock market has nearly doubled in the last few years (Ted said that was going to Zero), it's hard to give him credit as a financial genius. More like a blind squirrel finding a nut.

I spoke with TDD once, a few years back..
I liked his wit/humor/whatever.

It just didn't belong on a public forum like this.
