One of the entertaining things about living in smalltown USA is the humor caused by knowing such a high percentage of the population nearby. If anything happens to anyone the news gets to town before they do. A prime example of this actually came up for discussion at our school board meeting a couple of nights ago. It was only discussed there because the event involved two people who work in the same school building every day and there is a potential for ongoing problems.
Apparently about a week ago one person who works in the building as a paraprofessional employed by our special education cooperative was at a football game at our school. Her husband had wandered off at some point. She found him in their pickup.....making out with one of the school cooks. An intervention occurred promptly which ended with the cook having a dandy black eye. No reports as to whether or not the husband survived. No reports yet as to what the husband of the school cook thought about the situation. Everyone involved is over 40 with kids up to about age 20.
"As I tell my wife, you ladies duke it out and I will take the winner and console the looser"
A man has two arms, a brunette on the left and a blond on the right, seems balanced to me.
I guess school cooks have changed since I was a boy...
Lunch Ladies: If they hadn't been wearing dresses, we wouldn't have been able to tell WHAT gender they were.

Wouldn't the *looser* of the two be the winner by default? 🙂
"No reports as to whether or not the husband survived."
I smell a fish, or methane blast here. How about posting a selfie? 😉
The school cook has a WHAT!?!

One of the disturbing things about small town America is the gossip mongering. We have all seen it presented as themes in various television programs.
Here are adults that decided to regress to their teen years at a HS football game. I can’t say that it is a good example for the younger folk.
So we have a paraprofessional and a school cook who are probably locked into small wage jobs living desperate and maybe repressed lives brought on by the small town social climate.
So now the school board needs to pry and spread to the web. School board meetings are televised here.
I hope everything works out for everyone in Smallville but I think that someone will not be at their school job for very long.
But hee haw!
The school cook has a WHAT!?!
Perfect Doug!

And what TV programs would that be, Andy Griffith, Beverly Hillbillies or Green Acres? Sounds like you've been watching too much TV - those are not real life shows - a talking pig ? Come on, now....
Y'all don't have talking pigs out there in the contiguous States?
It's not all rich men farming hobby farms like Green Acre's?
All we have are weather forecasting quahogs. And they don't even talk.
