Have you noticed how everyone has started answering questions with the word so?
So, what we've done is...
So, the developers...
So, I'm not really sure, I'll have to ask...
So, yes. This unit is equipped with...
It is driving me crazy. I usually try to not complain about stuff like this, but "so" caught one amazingly quickly.
I know like.
I have not heard that one yet. But then again, I am so out of touch, it's not even funny any more.
It really hit me how much I'm out of touch when I have to look up all the abbreviations and acronyms on the internet with the urban dictionary. All the abbreviations which derived (I believe anyway) from heavy use of texting.
A number of months ago, I made a general comment about a new language type thing to one of my nephews (about 30, so still a millennial, has no idea how to operate what us old timers call a home phone). He, of course, promptly denied there being any sort of new lingo going on.
So what?

My teen age daughter uses new words every week.. I don't even try to keep up.
That's as old as the hills here.
Common response, particularly from a teenage female - "So......."
And the list expands.
"so we can get your subdivision approved...."
So, is she expecting again yet?
Yeah, expecting me to grow up!

I've been complaining about the evolution of our language for a long time, but it's just going to happen no matter how much we scream.
The change the offends me the most is "try and..." rather than "try to..."
"I'm going to try and fix that." just pisses me off!

Can you feel the love?
The one that gets me is "whatever". It seems they just ran out of ideas and decided to blow me off. So, I mean, like wow man, what a bummer, ya know?
The only one I "know" that overused "so" is still having a temper tantrum about a recent time-out. 😉
