Tomorrow, follow the example of the King.

I'm going to head over to the Boston Harbor and dump some tea in. I'm fortunate to work about 800' away 🙂
So...typical Saturday?
I guess my invitation got lost in the mail so I won't be attending. Best wishes though to KC3.
Kinda tied up tomorrow. My big goal is to do that at the coronaton of King William.
Watching the news this morning (in my life-long desire to expand my horizons) I heard a new term to add to my vocabulary; clotted cream.
As with all things British when it comes to food, they can pick the grossest descriptions. Apparently it's a cross between ricotta and Philadelphia Cream Cheese. It's probably not too bad, apparently eaten with scones (a failed attempt at homemade biscuits..with some sugar thrown in). And I'll avoid that whole "biscuit" business.
And then there's pudding...
Had I been alive in England in the 17th. century I too probably would have hopped a boat for this side of the pond. If nothing else just to get away from the bad food.
PS - They do have something over there called "fish & chips". Something stolen from our Long John Silver's food chain no doubt. 😉
When everything was owned by the high muckety-mucks but all the work was done by the common people, the separation of the products in the slaughterhouse followed that same status. The common people only received what was deemed unfit by the owners. Blood, intestines, various organs, etc. Thus, it was imperative for the cooks for the poor to develop dishes that could be made with such products.

I guess that he can keep the seat warm for William V as well as anyone else.
No way he will ever be as popular as his mom. But he should know the job well after being on training for over 70 years.
I just shake my head any time someone mentions the Royals or the Kardashians
Having been born in London and exactly one half working class British extraction, and 100% American, I'm torn between apathy and complete indifference. In other news half the country is on strike to for pay increases to keep up with inflation, but lets blow a $100 million anointing a new king.
Charlie Windsor doesn’t seem to be in any way majestic to me.
Stolen from Arthur Treacher.

If a silly old geezer went around insisting people address him as “your majesty” we would probably put him in a home.
The headline my cuz in Kent sent.
My mother in law was born and raised in England. Charles is the fourth monarch since she was born. She told me that her step father bought a TV in 1953 so they could watch Queen Elizabeth's coronation. It was the first TV show she had ever seen. She set her alarm and was up at 5:00 this morning to watch. As I heard someone state yesterday, "Nobody knows how to do pomp and circumstance like the Brits". I watched a few minutes of the parade but then found something better to do.

The adoration given to the "Royal Family" is insane, they are the remnants of yet another failed monarchy and are nothing more that super wealthy ceremonial puppets.
It seems that the members of the general American public conveniently forget about this little war called the American Revolution, ya know, that little skirmish where we defeated the then ruling monarchy and his Hession friends for our independence. They must have skipped a lot of history classes because they also forget how we saved the UK from the Nazis.
The media eats this crap up, the hot topic for today is what the First Lady and her granddaughter wore to the ceremony with the First Lady being dressed in blue and the granddaughter being dressed in yellow to symbolize support for the Ukraine. For crying out loud, WHO CARES??????!!!!!!
I recorded 5 hours of it for later consumption. I ff'd through (yawn) most of the coverage. My takeaway is that if Prince William makes it to his own coronation he will have a perfect example showing what might be done (or not) to bring the whole shebang out of antique pomp and maybe keep the costs down a bit. Good luck Willy, you're up next.
Near as I can figger the only folks making out on this deal were the hotels, airlines, hat makers and purveyors of horse feed.
PS - God bless the blokes stuck with sweeping up the 2 miles behind hundreds (or thousands) of horses.
