First :coffee: "Here's your sign".:-P

S = SHE
W = WHO
M = MUST
B = BE
O = OBEYED

On this board that translates to Noodles/Angel.

It's from "Rumpold of the Bailey" ...

an excellent British series of a crusty old barrister whose clientelle are among the best of the petty criminals of London towne. I have the complete set on DVDs. The "Bailey" is the name of a particular prison that holds people awaiting trial.

That would be The North Aboyne Irregular, sometimes known as Derek. He uses the term SWMBO in reference to his spouse. Most married men can grasp the concept rather quickly.

Even though I will not be married (again) until March, I can grasp the concept very easily. It makes perfect sense. "If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy"

And Squire HC ..................

"Yes Dear" is THE most important answer to SWMBO in order to get along since May 29, 1969 !

Mind you, she had early training with her Dear Dad, who along with her two brothers, uncle and grandfather were/are surveyors in Blighty.

When she got off the boat in 1968 from Blighty, entrained upriver to Toronto on her way around the World with a girlfriend, she met this scrawny wretch of an articling student surveyor.

Overpowered with hope she could make something out of him, it's surprising that she could do so well with the raw material she was given to work with !

AND,..................... she said Happy Birthday to me today, too!

(I won't go on about what else or Angel and Wendell will blush.)

Cheers,

Derek

It's from "Rumpole of the Bailey" ...

I fear you have conflated Horace Rumpole (Rumpole of the Bailey) with Cuthbert Rumbold (floor manager of Grace Brothers men's and women’s department).

Horace Rumpole

Rumpole of the Bailey

Cuthbert Rumbold
