So...I replaced my computer mouse recently with a Logitech M325. The scroll wheel is way too loose, or sensitive. Every time I move my mouse hand a little bit, the scroll wheel spins and zooms around in CAD, or scrolls the active document. It's really annoying. Anybody have a mouse with a stiffer scroll wheel that they like?
You probably already know this:
Under settings-Devices-Mouse. I keep the cursor speed below the middle and the line speed about 5. My mouse is slower than most like it, but I'm comfortable with it this way.

if you're drafting a lot then a gaming mouse will better serve you long term with the programmable buttons and the thumb track ball. most drafting/CAD techs prefer these type layouts it seems versus having to reach for a keyboard and using a standard mouse with just a scroll wheel

I personally have a simpler 5 button logitech M650. it's wireless (usb adapter plugged in), cheaper at only $40 on amazon and the two buttons are programmed with the two commands I use most frequently when drafting (F3 for snaps or escape for ending a command). it replaced an older logitech that I had but I do think there's plenty of merit in watching a CAD tech complete the same command as me in half the time without having their hands leave the mouse or keyboard positions. maybe I'll get with the times eventually but a mouse that is lit up with neon lights and looks like spaceship just isn't for me...
Just a standard Logitech M510.?ÿ Think they cost $20 or so
I'm rather fond of my Logitech MX Master 3S. You can switch the scrolling wheel between smooth (no restriction) and graduated (small clicks as you scroll that require a little more oomph). The back and forward buttons are nice, too, and it's all programmable. It has a rechargeable battery, wireless and works flawlessly for me, but will set you back about a hundred bucks.
@mightymoe Scroll speed isn't the issue. It's random scrolling every time I breathe that's bugging me. My previous mouse needed more pressure to move the scroll wheel.
I like the Logitech MX Master Series.?ÿ Have one that just died after about three years of steady use....
@wendell Yes, more oomph on the scroll wheel is what I'm looking for.
With the thumb wheels, that mouse looks set up for right-hand only use. I prefer to fly the mouse with my left. I'll keep it in mind, though. Thanks.
@peter-lothian Is that one of the ones where you can push down on the wheel and change it from infinite scroll (what I think you are describing) to the more standard indent scrolling.?ÿ I hate the infinite scroll, where there is zero resistance to the wheel.

I am currently using a logi MX anywhere 2S.?ÿ Liking the smaller size from what I used to use.?ÿ It has the changeable wheel scroll like I described.?ÿ Still has the darn rubber that gets slimy and starts to peel off in about 6 months, but they all seem to do that.
Just a standard Logitech M510.?ÿ Think they cost $20 or so
That's what I have, they tried to give me a M325 in the office and I had the same problem, middle button way to sensitive. Tried all the settings, made them dig out an old M510 from somewhere so I could get something done.

I figured it was some glitch, sounds like you got a defective one. The one I recently got is the M310, very simple and works good for me.
I'm taking a gamble here but I'm gonna go out a limb and say I'm younger than most on here...

I can remember back in computer class in the later 90's and early 2000's, we young boys were hateful and always looking for trouble/fun. sometimes the teacher would walk out of the room for a minute and we'd unscrew the baseplate to the old mice to dig the heavy, rubber coated lead balls out of the bottom. then we'd throw them at each other like it was dodgeball in the computer lab. we finally got busted when the teacher walked back in one day and one of the boys threw the heavy lead ball right into an older, glass computer monitor hahaha. We were all busted for that one though
I have the same mouse as @wendell It took me a little while to get used to the ergonomics of it coming from a Logitech M705. It is a USB-C rechargeable mouse that can be used while recharging. https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/mice/mx-master-3s.910-006556.html
