If someone is shedding the Covid virus then a mask, any mask on them will slow down transmission because it limits how far their breath can travel through the air.?ÿ It has less positive effect on keeping someone from receiving it.?ÿ It's better than nothing, an N95 would be the best.

I've had zero problem with the 4 shots I have gotten.-?ÿ The 2nd shot made me feel sick for a single afternoon and the 3rd one gave me a sore arm.

Every medical treatment has potential side effects.?ÿ The Doc prescribed BP meds for me...damn things have made my BP crash a couple of times, not fun.?ÿ I quit taking them, guess I better tell the Doc.?ÿ It's risk management...full blown Covid with no protection vs Covid with an alert immune system because of the vaccine.?ÿ I personally feel the odds are better with the vaccine than without given how dumb a lot of people seem to be.?ÿ Son went to work, idiot Assistant Manager showed up with boyfriend at home sick with Covid (+ test).?ÿ Okay given that we don't believe in sick leave for most people maybe the person feels pressured into going to work.?ÿ In other countries work is not the highest highest highest priority above everything else, in fact there are no other priorities here.?ÿ People in other countries think we are crazy, are we here to live or to work?

@dave-karoly I have a couple of European friends...they say that they work to live and that we Americans live to work. Probably true in my case...

@john-hamilton?ÿ

That's a very old saying - one of my great grandfathers was described as "he worked to live but he didn't live to work." That attitude apparently led to a long life (1866-1950) by standards of the time.

There is a fresh wave of COVID in Arizona and it hit wife and me last week despite being vaccinated and boosted. It was bad enough but I can't imagine how bad it would be for us without vaccination - probably dead. I take pride in working hard but for a week I had nothing.?ÿWe're old guys so doc prescribed Paxlovid and the aftertaste is just awful, like stale coffee served in a tinfoil cup.?ÿ

ps It was nice having a whole week off, though, the two of us sitting quietly and reading.

I was sick over Thanksgiving week. Tested (-). First time since 12/2019. Think it was just a cold. Wife has been fighting it for 2 weeks. 5 day migraine, no fever, it got me, wife, son, grandson, daughter, daughter in law.

I have 5 shots.

i havenƒ??t been bothering with the mask in the store lately, I figure the people who should wear a mask wonƒ??t, they wonƒ??t even stay home. Masks are to protect other people from me, not the other way around. It has to be a group effort, caring about your neighbors.

Women like to complain, ƒ??I canƒ??t stop.ƒ? Yes you can, guess what I will survive and if the boy is over we will make it, really. Go to bed if you need to.

Our first round was two years ago. Round two was early November. For me it's been a life-altering illness. Hope you recover soon with no lasting issues..

I'm home with it again. Fever gone, dealing with a little postnasal drip. No loss of taste this time. Got the bivalent booster late October.

I went to Ohio to visit my brother and his wife and kids for Thanksgiving...its flat there. The kids were sneezing and oozing but full of energy. Felt something on the flight home Tuesday last week... I took 2 covid tests 3 days apart and it wasn't covid. I think I got some east coast bug my body isn't use to????ƒ?ƒ??‹?. Today was my first day back. I was dragging ass.?ÿ

Skip to minute 8:00 for the surveying stuff???

I have been home all week with not Covid, will return tomorrow, could have maybe returned today but I do not want to get anyone else sick.

It has been pretty brutal, not sure if I am remembering things wrong but it sure seems like getting sick now sucks a lot more than it did even ten years ago.

Thanks for posting the video Jed, first time I watched one of yours as a I usually avoid the youtube for the time sinking potential it carries. A nice distraction to my last sick day.

@jed?ÿ

I'm always impressed by your stamina-never in my adult life could I have kept up with you on those slopes, even on your sick day.

The scenery has been interesting, but it's getting so most trips look the same to me until you make a find. It would add interest if you showed your compass readings and maps more often. You are either using them more often than shown, or you have an uncanny ability to tell one bunch of trees from another when viewed from a different angle.

I enjoyed your video. I'll take the carrot cake if you don't want it. Hope you feel better soon.

Wife got sick and after a week gave whatever it is to me. Both of us were tested for Covid and the Flu and were negative. The Doctor put me on steroids, cough pills and an antibiotic in case.

Whatever worked made my case very mild while SWMBO spent most of 3 weeks fighting it. She was really sick, but not Covid, she was tested three times, something is going around this year and it can be nasty.?ÿ

I hope everyone does what they can to be safe and healthy.?ÿ

Hospitals here in Alaska are plugged, particularly pediatrics. Trifecta of RSV, flu and Covid.?ÿ
