I was a regular poster on the old RPLS.com, and then took a long hiatus after the switch. Just logged in again and it doesn't seem too active, so I decided to wander into this pasture and see what is going on.

So what's going on? I see some familiar names here.

You'll Wendell's site very active, kinda like the old RPLS.COM site, but better.

Hope you're busy!

That is an understatement I think we all can agree on! Many kudos to surveyorconnect to keep us all in tow.

Welcome back Andy. Enjoy the fun

Thanks fellas. Yeah, the old site was just user-friendly. Navigating around the new one is just plain hard, and I'm a surveyor for crying out loud. Navigating is what I do.

Welcome Andy.

I agree about the new POB/RPLS site. It is just plain user unfriendly. I tried to tell them that early on. I was one of the group of 40 beta users they recruited to ignore.

This is much better similar to the old site with a few upgrades. It still needs to be able to read the thread while you are composing your post to the thread.

Well they had to make it where you had to do a page refresh every 20 seconds. How do you think they would be able to monetize the site otherwise? Gotto keep hot, fresh ads popping up. BTW, check out the beermoney tab if you haven't in a while. I'm probably due up. Activity varies during time of day and how the economy is going.

The other other other Andy.

Click the little icon next to the name of the person you are replying to above the reply form.

I know that doesn't preview the whole thread, but it does help you to recall which post you are specifically replying to.

Use control-click to open the reply and it will open it in a new tab. Presto. You can refer to the thread in the previous tab. Works better in Firefox.

And Howdy Mr. Nadeau, welcome back!
