What do you carry? I know this has been discussed here before.
I currently carry a Kel-Tec 9mm in the front pocket of my survey vest when I do carry. It seems though, there are more of these mob attacks, and I am starting to do more work in the city again, so I am starting to carry more than I used to.
I like the Kel-Tec, but I am thinking I would like something with a little more knock down power. I want there to only be one story, MINE, if there is ever an incident.
Thanks in advance.
Smith and Wesson M&P 40c. Plenty of knockdown power and conceal ability.
Ruger LCR .357 it's quite a handful with full house .357 ammo, but easy to practice with cast .38 special
S&W MP40...don't leave home without it...
Not saying I have a CHL nor carry, but if I did
I would consider the Springfield XDS in .45 cal.
I have fired one and it seems to swallow up a lot
of the recoil.
I carry a KAHR 9mm most days, but sure do like the looks of the LCR above. Haters complain that it only has 5 round capacity, but for field work, I think a revolver is a good idea. Load the first chamber with snake shot and the rest with Fire and Fury.
My edc is a Sig Sauer P250 compact in 357 Sig or 40 S&W. I sometimes carry a S&W M&P 9 compact. The grip on the M&P compact is really to short for my hands so I have the X-Grip extender on the 17 round magazine which makes it just right.
Concealed? why concealed? much better to have it showing
Gen 3 Glock 19 with a TLR-3 light or a Gen 3 Glock 21SF. If I am clothed, I have a gun on me. If I am not one is within reach. 😉
Ah, another member of the 'Shoot Me First!' crowd.
S&W Bodyguard .380 with two extra mags every time I leave the house, goes in the pocket when the wallet does.
In the field, carry a Glock 26 with an extra mag in the gheyest fanny pack you've ever seen, works well with my tool pouch and looks like it is part of the tool belt.
I carry a colt 45 replica. It is safe and reliable.
Matt
I carry a Glock 23 (mid-size .40) in a Galco KingTuk IWB holster. I am trying to find a Glock 43, the new single stack 9mm but availability is limited and the ones I do find are priced a little high. In the winter or just whenever the urge hits, I'll sometimes carry my Springfield 1911 (.45 acp). If I'm working in black bear country, I'll carry the S&W model 19 (.357 4" barrel).
I have a CZ Model 82 in 9mm Makarov. Not being familiar with CZ, I was a little leery about it at first, but after doing quite a bit of research I have never heard a single bad comment about them. It's fairly small, inexpensive, powerful enough, holds 12 rounds, and dependability is in line with a Colt .45 ACP, which is saying a lot. It has never jammed.
Most people who own them have said they're "the best $250 I ever spent on a handgun".
Excellent choice. 9x18 is a great self defense round.
You all need to come to Kansas. I'll let you do your own Google search of Kansas and gun laws, including freshly printed new ones. Let's just say that Boot Hill will need to be expanded.....soon. Mainly accidental self-inflicted wounds.
I own more than one gun. I've never had the urge to stroll into the supermarket to pick up a few groceries while carrying one in my hand/belt/pocket/around my neck/dangling from my hat. Nuff said.
Springfield XDS 4.0 in 9mm.

Where is this? I'm not going any where near there. Gun or no gun.

I think I'm like most people who carry when I say we do it for protection, and no other reason. Several years ago I had a friend working in a supermarket in Memphis. One night an angry ex-employee walked in and shot him in the face. He survived, but he will never be the same. If he had been able to defend himself, it might have been different.
I carry a Blackie Collins 21" D-handle machete in a leather sheath, and also a brick mason's hammer and a long-shank screwdriver.
I am also armed with awareness and a personable attitude. I have been cautioned by a county deputy sheriff to carry because of wild hogs in the area. Here in rural Northeast Mississippi, I do not find a need to carry, even though I have an enhanced conceal carry permit.
No, I am not nieve. Nor am I paranoid. But I do live in a good part of our country with good people around. I also screen my clients and try not to walk into a volatile situation. The presence of a peace officer has been necessary on only two surveys in my 33.years of practice. I also try to enlist the help of the concerned neighbor to show me what he knows. Attitude has a lot to do with any situation.
