A 6:43 this morning; Orion Tiberius Casement was born. He is my 7th grandchild, just under 8 lbs, 19" long.

Cute little guy....:-D

Congrats Grandpa!
I'll go out on a limb and guess they are star-gazers and/or sci-fi nuts - like me.

How could they have overlooked other options for naming, like Barkevious and Niko? Surely they want this child to be a superstar in the NFL someday. Can't do that without an appropriate appellation.

Hamilton, Zbigniew and Spiro are recommended for future government-connected types.

What happens if Orion "the Hunter" is refused membership in PETA someday?

Aw, heck. Just having some fun with you, Radar. We all know grandparents get darn little say in naming that next generation. Congratulations to your entire family.

Our son's new vice-principal at middle school this year has an unusual and unique first name spelling. I never seen it or heard it before. Matter of fact she has the only surname in the world.

It turns out that her younger brother is the starting LB for the 49ers the past few years. His name is pretty common ..Ahmad. Her father was also a n NFL player that played for the Redskins and got a SB ring in 83 with a ordinary name.

Doug,
Congrats to you for lil' Orion.
Great name on many levels for many reasons..

I've always been a fan of the name Orion, and the constellation is one of my faves as well. Congratulations on the new grand-bundle of joy! 🙂

Our oldest son and his wife miscarried a few months ago. They aren't giving up though - ovulation tests and all now
Oldest daughter and her fiance are expecting Feb. 3rd. They are to marry in 11 days. Why do young people these days get those two steps backward? Our folks would have skinned us alive if we'd have gotten pregnant before we were married. Its appears normal now....
