Not quite 35 lbs.?ÿ Sweet tart pungent tree ripened bug free organic sunshine in a ball.

I'm not sure if you can overdose on peaches.

I don't know about humans, but my old dog used to come close with fallen cherries in the back.?ÿ He could not resist them (or tomatoes from the garden).?ÿ It got to the point I would have to use the shopvac under the tree on a daily basis.

That time of year around here trying to figure out what to do with that 20lbs of raspberries and black currants in the garden out back. Hit on making wine with them few years ago. Pretty sure can do the same with peaches, least I'd give it a try. Sugar, water and yeast = nectar of the gods.?ÿ?ÿ

black currants

Homemade Cr??me de cassis.?ÿ

Black Currents, vodka, sugar and four months in the back of the fridge.?ÿ Next summer add a shot or two to a tall glass of lemonade.?ÿ Takes the edge off after a long day.?ÿ?ÿ

I know a guy who took some peaches and made some mighty fine peach flavored moonshine a couple years ago. Went down real smooooooooooth.

@fairbanksls?ÿ

Chuck, a Georgia born survey guy turned project management and superintendent, was pretty taken aback by the quality.

And his gentleman Georgia accent thanked me profusely.

?ÿ

We talk about Georgia every so often. Boiled peanuts is another thing that define that food culture too.

That's true.?ÿ Of course being from Georgia I'm more than a bit prejudiced.?ÿ The Elberta peaches normally grown in central Georgia are the best of the best.

What Jitterboogie said about boiled peanuts is true too.?ÿ It's just about time for the peanuts to be ready.?ÿ For the best boiled peanuts they need to be harvested just before they're right for combining.

Our peach trees are not mature enough to bear yet, but I spent the morning harvesting the first apple and pear varites (out of 16) to be ready.?ÿ
