...the 3 hours of driving is what I wish I could avoid .....?ÿ

That's the average round trip commute for a guy who lives in Beaverton and works in Vancouver. Nevermore.?ÿ?ÿ

Some people are square pegs in round holes, but @jed seems to fit in a job where few others would.

I had one today that needed a quick turnaround on an easement for a shared driveway.?ÿ I priced it accordingly and they balked at the price.?ÿ They wanted to reduce cost by reducing the project scope to a point that I was uncomfortable with.?ÿ My response was that quality of work and scope are not negotiable but I would be happy to adjust the cost by letting them move to the back of the line.?ÿ For some reason they thought that was more unreasonable than my initial proposal.

I have several times told persons who demand I work for them - 'how about I pay you twenty dollars and just not take the job'.

My most common reason to turn down a client over the past 18 months is that we simply can not do the job within a time constraint that they would impose.?ÿ This generally applies to calls from those I do not know.?ÿ In another thread I listed several of my recent jobs.?ÿ Most of those are for prior clients, friends and neighbors.?ÿ It's called protecting the base.?ÿ A one and done client is rare for me.

@williwaw?ÿ

Similar sometimes. I just nap.

No caffeine after 4pm

Naps are a natural reset, even if for only 15-20 minutes.

I've mastered my sleep cycle, even learned how to sleep across 3 bar stools while they count the till.

It all about Minding?ÿ the minimum sleep needed to perform at 95%.

Thatƒ??s no way to treat a woman.

@mightymoe

Sounds like quite the moneymaker if you have the time and energy.
