Same here (sort of); either corporations or state/local government agencies. I do some small three or four unit rowhouse to condo conversions (6-8 a year) but I don't think I've ever met a client, I always deal with their attorney.

I know what he's getting at. I probably provide two estimates a week for minorities. I may get one job a month from those estimates.

I've got a slum-lord Mercedes driving builder/ real estate flipper client I've known for thirty years. Mohammed usually goes by the name "Mo". He's an ok guy but he always bitches about the price. And I always tell him he got the "brother-in-law" deal. Every once in a while he gets a quote from other survey outfits but always comes back home. 😉

And I guess I should consider all the N.A. nations I work with a minority...but in reality even though we yellow eyes (caucazoidial homo sapiens) may outnumber them; they were here first.

The reason for the poll is innocent in nature. Around here, the population demographic is homogeneous with the national percentages.
I clicked < 2% but at times it could be double that.
I have noticed that these clients always are very good clients. Some pay up front without being asked. Some are very cordial or very business like. Never any problems. African-American, Middle Eastern and some Hispanics.
I know that my demographics would change extremely in urban areas.
So people who clicked over 20% may have a very good client base

Well.... In my fair city, as a Caucasian male, I am a member of the minority group...

The 2010 census places our population at 77,434 people.

Caucasian at 25.2%, Black or African American at 71.6%. Females at 53.9%. (All numbers per census.gov site)

Most of my clients are Caucasian male, so I guess the majority of my clients are members of the local minority group.... 😉

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you...

Minorities is a hard call for where I live because we have a lot of LBGTQ population, not much in differing races, except for imported workers. I don't notice when we're working for minorities I guess. We are all a minority of one, anyway.

Probably close to that 2% but might jump to 5% in some years. Don't really think about it. Just folks needin' a surveyor.

You really can't spin this.
I was raised in a NE city that has very similar demographics that you state.
I thought that I didn't have to define minority. Maybe I posed this wrongly.

If I only include the general public, I easily have over 20% minority clients. That includes African American and Hispanic. Hard to determine ethnicity of a corporation or government. If you mean client contacts then I have very few minority client contacts outside of my general public clients.

No spin intended, just stating the facts..... I know exactly what you're looking for.....

I've had lots of "minority" clients over the years, and they're no different than my "non-minority" clients.....

FYI... I didn't participate in the poll, I didn't want to slant the results..... 😎

Today is mid-month billing, so time for me to get to work! Have a great day!

You should define what you mean by a "minority" for your poll if you do not want any comments.

Also depends how you define "clients". If the client is a public entity then it would be the demographic makeup of that jurisdiction. If a corporation would it be the makeup of their management, employees, or customer base? And do you count women as a minority? They certainly are not up here.
So adding all that together my client base would be about 75% "minority". And I do not see why it should matter.

Yep this has been a mistake
