I don't use mail as much as I used to.

I'm starting to think I should never use it for much of anything.

Certainly, important communications should be done some other way if possible.

Tax day was Monday, I sent my payment in the mail the 4th.

It still hasn't shown up, I might be in panic mode about now but my partner also sent his in and was smart enough to track it, it's making a very long trek to Cincinnati and finally made it to the city yesterday.

This isn't the only mail glitch I've had in the past month, just about everything is problematic.

I'm going to either pay everything electronically (even after Willow) or deliver payment personally, which is probably the best way.

My wife prefers to write checks over electronic payments. We’ve spoken with most of the companies we do business with for the purpose of determining when to mail out a check so it arrives to them on time. One company barely gives us enough time from when we receive the bill to when it’s due. My wife asked them if they could mail out the bill a bit sooner. All companies want you to go paperless.

I've not only been having issues with mail, but with banks.

Kinda leaves no way to pay.

I've been shifting accounts around to new banks as my old banks seem to be losing their way.

But it's difficult, changing automatic payments, closing accounts.

I think security concerns are hitting banks now so it's not a time I want all these companies to have access to an account.

Yep, I hate this.  It was either the electric company or internet company that was doing this and I called them to complain about it.  I wasn't even paying them by snail mail, I was scheduling ACH payments after I received the statement and there still wasn't enough time.

I must be getting old because I can't even manage to be nice to people when I call about stuff like this.  It's stupid and it's so obviously stupid that I can't even fake a smile long enough to get through the phone call.

I had a minor injury and went to the urgent care office about a mile from my office.

With insurance I wasn't sure what I would owe so I waited for a bill. It came almost a month ago and I sent the check in the mail the same day. Two weeks later I got another bill for the same thing. I figure I already paid it. Went to my account and it hadn't shown up. Monday, I went to the urgent care office, and they said they got the payment on the 13th, more than two weeks after I mailed it in the mailbox a mile from their office. I chatted with the girl there and seems they mailed their invoice weeks before I got it.

This how crazy the mail system is. If I mail a letter to another PO Box in the same post office I use, that letter first gets shipped to a sorting center in Anchorage 45 miles away where after sorting, gets shipped back to my post office where it sits around until the postal employees can place it a week later in the box next to mine. So even if your only sending a letter to someone half a block away, that letter is going to first travel to a sorting center some distance away to be sorted and then sent back to be delivered and by the time it's delivered may have traveled hundreds of miles, to reach it's destination half a block away.

Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.

These stories are great !

Our electric is supplied by a Co-Op and the same Co-op built out a fiber network and we now get internet service from them.

Two different parts of the same group so bills go to the same address in SC. The electric bill comes with an envelope and I write my check and mail it off to SC from VA. It usually shows up as cashed about 5-7 days.

The Internet bill is emailed so i write a check, write up an envelope to the same place as the electric bill and send it off. I have had two checks lost in the mail. NOW, If I cut the address out of the bill making sure to include the barcode and tape it to an envelope, the internet service bill gets thet 5-7 days.

GO FIGURE.

I just found out that my quarterly payment no longer goes to Cincinnati, it goes to North Carolina, possibly Charlotte. The accountant has printed new envelopes but I didn't know about it until today. From what I understand there is a big pile of payments sitting in Ohio waiting to be sent to NC. I've also found out that SS checks will no longer be issued. I got one last week for I guess Medicaid, since it's the same amount as a monthly Medicaid payment. How they will know where to send it electronically now is anyone's guess, maybe the account were my SS goes, but if they do, why send a check anyway. Very confusing.

I had to sign up for SS in July and got a SS payment of xxxx, in August I got a SS payment of xxxx-yyy; yyy is the amount I pay for Medicaid. This month I got a payment of xxxx-yyy, then got a check in the mail for yyy. If that makes sense........
