Do any of my fellow Kentucky licensees know when the requirement of getting a Firm Permit was in place?

I am pretty sure it has been required as long as I have been licensed, but I can't tell from the regulation when it became effective as there are so many revision dates listed.

At the next KAPS board meeting (June 22) there will probably be some of the old-timers present that actually helped create the regulations. I'm with you in that they have been around as long as I've been in the business.

Not sure myself, but is this something you can call over to Frankfort and find out?

This probably dosen't answer your question, but permit #1 was issued January, 2000.

Thanks guys. After reading the responses, the 2000 date jogged my memory. I think I recall that the requirement came into place while I was working at a company in Paducah.

I was just wondering as I am working on a lot survey and the plat is an out of state company. The work was before the requirement. They apparently had the plat stamped and signed by a guy who had his license revoked a couple of years after the plat was filed.

Of 10 corner monuments that should have been in on two lots, I have found only two. 1 undisturbed and another that is set a couple of inches in the ground and leaning at about a 45 degree angle.
