Duke says hi...Duke can beat any dog, big or small, in a fair fight, or even an unfair fight...
My sister
has almost his twin. Camo, short for camouflage.

The only dogs my wife and I have had over the last thirty-four years have been Dachshunds, about four different regimes of them in all. Well, there was a Doberman, but the Dachshunds bossed him around and the breed is just short-lived anyway, so he's more of a footnote.

Maybe you should change his name to "Rocky"

..or Stumpy...
What would he do to a Great Dane? Choke him while being swallowed?
I put that wrong...
IN HIS DACHSHUND MIND, he thinks He can beat any dog, big or small, in a fair fight, or even an unfair fight.
My neighbor's son has some sort of wolfhound breed.
They are large, mean and has killed every dog that has ventured into their path while on the loose.
Their only benefit is that they let everyone know if anything is lurking around in the neighborhood.
That dog looks a lot like our 12 y.o. one we just had to 'put down'; black-and-tan with that "dapple" white.
And I concur; they are fearless. They're a hound dog that was bred to hunt badgers and other fairly tough animals. Not to mention a relatively entertaining personality.
I don't know, I had a Chihuahua that was pretty sure he could whip any dog alive. Had an 80# Rhodesian/Pit Bull cross that the Chihuahua used to boss around.

I've always been of the opinion if Pit Bulls had the spirit of a Chihuahua they would've definitely been outlawed years ago.
I've been attacked by a Chihuahua while entering his domain. With no warning he hit my leg with all his weight and wildly started chewing on my boot. He stayed there biting me the whole time I pulled a MH lid and measured the depth. My only saving grace was the fact he weighed less than three pounds. Fierce with NO FEAR.
No other dog I know of has that fight.

My wife's Pomeranian doesn't even like our other 4 dogs LOOKING at my wife. If any come near, she goes into a tirade and attacks (the dog, not SWMBO).

Dachshunds are among the most aggressive breeds.
Our oldest daughter rescued a 10 year old Pit Bull mix named Zeuss. That is the most mellow dog I have ever met. Maybe it's because he knows he can kick anything's @ss.
When he visited it took a while to get Duke to calm down. They finally were able to be in the same room together. I think Zeuss sent Duke message, "Be Cool, man!" Because Duke didn't bark at another dog for a while after that.
