Tires? (Good Year...) 😉
What about software?
I'd suggest sunscreen.....

If you do a lot of staking you could always pre-buy a bunch of wood for the year. Also, I'd think of all the small stuff that gets put on the back burner; hand tools, new locator, new survey box.
Free coffee for the crew. Spring for the really good stuff.
:good:
That's crossed my mind, and the time and effort in the last attempt at a website was a nightmare....
It almost sounds like you have no idea what to buy.
I hope this idea of spending money for equipment ends up being for "needed", truly useful equipment . . . equipment that will actually increase your revenue.
If it's not, or if the spending doesn't wind up making you more money in the future, then why buy anything? Unless you can buy something today that will actually increase in value in the future.
I understand wanting to spend money left over at the end of the year if there's really something to buy that will really help the business.
But, if you spend $10,000 on something that doesn't pay for itself and more, then wouldn't you be as well, if not better off to just declare the profit and actually have the money/profit?

I think every office needs a a good library. But then, I am biased.

I agree with those that say don't spend just to spend. If you can't think of any equipment you REALLY need, pay a little more towards a vehicle loan, prepay you insurance for next year, stock up supplies you know you use, pay Jan. bills early.... Otherwise, I just start writing myself "bonus" checks in Dec ... The personal tax rate is better than the corporate tax rate. I'm solo and only have myself to worry about.
Don't spend money unless you need to, but since that is the case with us:
Vicki got a top of the line Dell computer, we've decided on a new heating and cooling system for the office side of the house, and I had new firmware installed on the Leica GPS units. I'm thinking of a new Dell computer for me with a solid state drive and a big monitor.
Minor stuff: Boxes of printing paper, iron rebars, new data switch for the two plotters, plot and file all the pending record of surveys.
Here's my idea of some good "year's end spending":
