What is this "end of the month urgency" I have heard my entire career?

I know, I have heard some explanation about interest rates, yadda yadda, whatever.

Wait until the end of "next month" then.

Carry on.

Many agencies and large companies end their fiscal year at the end of this month!

Also, any expensive land projects that involve financing will not want to incur further carrying charges than necessary. ALTA's are frequently in this category.

I have my own brand of "end of the month urgency"...but probably not what you're thinking though.

One of my larger client's accounting cycle runs month to month. If I turn an invoice in quickly after the last day of the month, they pay within the next two weeks.

A lot of times during the last week of the month I will turn EVERYBODY'S attention to their jobs...just to insure my invoice's 'health and vitality".

That's what I call "end of the month urgency". B-)

As far as real estate transactions are concerned. Payments made to a loan are paid in the rears, in other words, interest does not accrue until after you use it. Therefor, your 1st payment is not due until the second month. - Closings that happen near the end on the month, say the 28th of a 31 day month, will have the borrower pay 3 pro-rated days of interest payments and not make another payment until the following month. Therefor missing a month of payment.

This pertains to surveyors why?
Many times the surveys that we do, are to meet the terms of a real estate contract. The parties at be, don't realize that a surveyor should be retained until the last hour. So we get the urgent phone call near the end of the month.
