Hi I'm looking for a Pentax SM1 metric micrometer for a Pentax L30 tilting level, for my daughter (a surveying student).

Pentax SM2, SM3, SM4 and SM5 micrometer's also fit, these have counterweights for auto levels.

Cheers,

Peter.

I have a Pentax SM1 Parallel Plate Micrometer. I have the Pentax AL-M2 to go with it and two Philly Road Targets. Have not been used since 2002. I do not have any idea of what it is worth, I use a digital level now when I need to.

?ÿ

That's great news, we were leveling at a wharf recently, near the mouth of the Brisbane river, there were wind gusts and trucks driving past, the digital level didn't work there.?ÿ?ÿ We wouldn't have a use for the AL-M2 either, we have an old Pentax tilting level that handles the conditions at the wharf, but it doesn't have the level of precision the digital level has, with a micrometer it would. 🙂 ?ÿ It requires patience to set up as it's a manual level, with a split level bubble, I can't see a lot of use for it, but we'll probably be down at the wharf again in future and I like the idea of having something for my daughter that will giver her a more fundamental understanding, appreciation or feel for the work.

The micrometer should sell second hand for at least $200, assuming it's in serviceable condition with clear glass, as a rough guide (this is all I could find), how much do you want for it??ÿ?ÿ Is it metric or imperial, can you share some pictures?

Cheers,

Peter.

@klsnbms Found this, but I don't think the site is genuine, looks like it copies old ads from other sites. https://www.tzsupplies.com/pentax-sm1-parallel-plate-micrometer-i3202918/
