Ok, so we have a massive update. Quick rundown of what Azimuth Prep has been up to.
A few people asked about adding support for the NSPS Trig-Star program, and since students get access for free it seemed like a natural fit. So I built a practice question bank for students preparing for the Trig-Star competition. Trig-Star is NSPS's trademark, so the bank carries its own name in the app: Trig Challenge. Same skills, solid trig practice, free for students like everything else.
Now for the new states. We have been soft launching for the past month and this is the official announcement:
- Oklahoma
- Georgia
- North Carolina
- Utah
- Virginia
All available right now. Michigan will be available in a few days. I had some last minute edits and did not want to hold up announcing the rest. Michigan's statute binder IS available today since that will not change, but the questions and flashcards are what we are waiting on.
Next month will be slower with fewer launches. Working this many states at once was a little much with the long nights, and I do not want to burn myself out. Expect maybe 2 states a month from here on.
I will be working on existing content, making edits to the Texas analytical problems, and building or modifying FS and PS questions to increase the difficulty.
I am also working on some HP35s proportioning programs. Those will be released here on Reddit for free once they are cleaned up. A few people have volunteered to test them and give feedback. We will add them to the Survey Wiki if allowed when they are done.
I appreciate all the feedback recently, and getting emails from people when they pass their exams always makes my day.
Again, thank you all for the support. Let me know what states you are interested in, my priority list is getting kind of short.
I am really enjoying the App! You did a great job creating it! 🙂
I'll extend a thank-you for all the students benefiting from your programs. I'd really like for some of our guys to apply themselves and show an interest in bettering their positions, but I can't seem to get through to them.
@smithsurveying I am glad it is working out of you! It is defiantly a labor of love and something that will continue to only get better over time.
@jbw Ya, it can be a challenge when people get content with their positions. I have had good luck with incentivizing them. So the company covers the training materials and then will cover the cost of the PASSING exam fee. But pay bumps and promotions as they work their way through the CST programs or the FS and PS exams. That has worked really well and it always looks better when bidding jobs, if they ask for credentials, all your field guys and the CAD techs having a form of the CST. It helps set you apart from the next company.
(I am slowly working on an enterprise version of the licensing were a company pays for XX licenses and can have access to who they go to and see a few key metrics.)
