No snow???
We got about 4-5 inches a few days ago (7100 ft. @ my house), but it's pretty much gone now (except in the shade). Matt's up at about 7000 ft. on a timbered (pine/fir) North facing side of a canyon right now, looking for 1879 Fir Bearing Trees, and "mounds of stone" w/ 4x4x4 Pine posts (also 1879).
No word on success so far...

I'd have set on the other side of the guardrail.
There??s an IRT on the other side of the approach as well. Given the time of year, time of day and current road conditions, I chose the Mag nail in pavement- mid summer or winter or poor road conditions and I??d have been outside the rail. ?ÿMid morning there were only about 5-6 cars an hour on the road. Yesterday at 330 pm-it was quite a bit busier with folks coming back for work/school.
I'd have set on the other side of the guardrail.
Downhill ? ?ÿ;)
I relish in the added safety factor of a guardrail between me/equipment and moving traffic.
I seen too many people that catch stuff with back tire or bumper or trailer and never look back.

There was a bit of snow up higher but my job was at 3900ft well below the current snowline- West glacier got snow last week and parts farther east..
?ÿThis morning I had a skiff at my place- all melted off this afternoon....
Montana really is the best state, isn't it?
