Hello,

My name is Pedro Osuna, and I’m a freelance surveyor based in Arlington, TX with over 14 years of experience in field engineering and construction layout. I’m currently seeking to partner with a licensed RPLS to review and certify a completed form board survey for a residential project in Royse City.

All fieldwork has been performed using GPS and robotic total station equipment, and I have the CAD file, field notes, and supporting documentation ready for your review. I’m looking to work directly with a licensed RPLS to ensure everything meets regulatory standards and can be properly sealed for permitting.

I fully understand the legal responsibilities involved and am open to discussing fair compensation for your time and oversight. This could also turn into a recurring working relationship for future projects as I continue to take on survey layout and field support work across North Texas.

If you’re open to collaborating or would like to review the project details, please feel free to reach out. I’d be glad to connect.

OK guys. Suppose Pedro was in your area and making the same ask. Would you be willing to participate and if so, under what conditions? Be polite.

I collaborate often. No problem with it as long as I'm completely in charge of the LS portions of the project. We work with many engineers, sometimes other surveyors, companies that need our expertise. But, never as a blank unreviewed signature.

However, the OP is in Texas and over the years from what's been related about surveying in Texas on this board, it does sound like the wild west, I'd probably pass on it.

Sounds like you are not licensed.

It is against Texas regulations to offer surveying services and not be licensed.

Businesses offering surveying services also must be registered and hold a certificate of registration.

If you hold neither the board can come after you.

No one that wants to retain their license will touch this as what you are proposing is a violation.

Form board surveys aren't a thing in Idaho that I know of, so I guess the next closest thing would be stamping an as built survey.

I'd probably pass on it to avoid being roped into a surveying without a license complaint.  If he was a 1099 employee of mine first then it would be cool, but coming to me after the data was collected would be a dealbreaker.

Form board surveys aren't a thing in Idaho

I did these in British Columbia at the beginning of my career. We might do 5 in a day.  I think that it makes a lot of sense to survey and certify the location of the forms before filling them with concrete.

For those freaking out about the 5 per day thing, these were on new subdivisional lots with corners set
