TEC Land Surveying is a small company doing big things in the Hudson Valley, NY area and beyond that is looking for both office and field technicians. TEC works on a nice mix of development, construction, transportation, infrastructure, boundary, and residential projects. We are looking for people who are similarly well rounded in their experience and enjoy doing a variety of different work in a relaxed professional atmosphere.
On the office side of things we are looking for someone who is familiar with data processing using Carlson and/or Leica software. The ability to import data and solve potential problems is very important as is experience with manipulating terrain models and computing construction layout. Experience with scanning is helpful but not required. The right person should be able to take a project from the field data to the completed survey map with limited supervision and should feel comfortable communicating with clients. Responsibilities will include drafting, research, data/boundary computations, and project management of small to mid sized projects.
For the field side of things we are seeking a crew chief that has experience with not only boundary/topo but also with various aspects of construction layout including site layout, building/steel layout, and field calculations. Experience with Leica software is preferred but we will train the right candidate. The right person should be comfortable with working 40-50 hours a week depending on project load and be willing to travel overnight on occasion.
Candidates with both field and office experience are encouraged to apply even if additional training may be needed in one area.
Please email a cover letter, resume, and past employment references to [email protected]
Thanks!
Thanks! The resume and portfolio is a bit out of date but maybe I'll get to that next winter if it slows down! 😉
I keep trying to grown and expand at a manageable and steady rate but I am loosing to much work because we can't get to it right now...and I don't see that changing anytime soon for us. In the end you need people to do the work...myself and my guys have families and lives outside of work...can't keep up the 60 hour weeks.
Suggestion for new tagline:
"Our surveys make you so happy you'll giggle and say, that TECLS!"
Seriously though, congratulations on a growing business! 🙂
