One of the reasons I got the 4 wheeler was because I would walk a half mile through crap to set the fore site/back site and then trudge back to the gun to start shooting only to realize that I left the prism pointing in the wrong direction. Ugh, back through the crap.
@jimcox I'm using that ?????ÿ I know I'm in the minority here, but I can't stand that big, clunky DC. Being an office guy, my opinion on that stuff doesn't matter that much and my field guy loves his 7. I keep the old Surveyor2 in my truck though and love it. Call me a simpleton.

I had a prism fall off the rod while knee deep in a "proposed retention pond" which was a mosquito ridden swamp at the time. Was so pissed off I fell over while trying to recover it. That was the end of me ever being in a (potty mouth) "retention pond" again. ?????ÿ

I had a hammer drill of that style and make. It went through a lot of bits and would only drill a few holes per battery charge. We had to replace the chuck once and when I last saw it was due for another.?ÿ When I got to my current job my first purchase was a Milwaukie hammer drill with SDS-Plus chuck. A bit more money but much better for the purpose. I've installed 150+ plugs with it using the same set of 4 bits (1/4", 3/8", 1/2", & countersink), plus some exploratory excavations in asphalt for monument recovery.?ÿ The extra money I spent on the drill will quickly be recovered with savings on bits and service life.?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ
I suggest that you get yourself another tool bag and a 2 lb drilling hammer, dedicated to the single purpose. Make it your plug installation kit. Drill, batteries, bits, plugs and hammer.?ÿ I include epoxy putty and a knife for cutting a small bit off in my kit, but that is optional.?ÿ
yep, I'm only sporting the cheapy batteries that came with it, because it is my personal drill.
