Your elevation certificates didn't expire in June

The OMB expiration date printed on the current Elevation Certificate was June 30, 2026. That's come and gone, and I've seen the question start to surface.

Two things worth knowing.

FEMA isn't replacing the form. A Federal Register notice back in June proposed extending the same one as a currently approved collection, filed as an extension rather than a revision. So no redesign, nothing new to learn.

And per FEMA's own instructions on the form, that printed date never applied to a completed certificate in the first place. A finished EC doesn't expire unless the building itself changes in a way that invalidates what's on it.

Has anyone actually had a reviewer, lender, or client push back over the June date? Curious whether this is causing real problems out there or whether it's just a question people are asking.

And for those doing a lot of flood work: is there anything on that form you'd want changed if FEMA ever did open it up for revision?
