Work flow for Field genius to starnet

Good evening to all of my internet mentors. I have been on a learning binge of my craft as usual and ran into a roadblock. Field genius has continued to surprise me on how much you can really do with surveying software. Until now I have always done LSA with Excel manually. But decided to switch to using starnet to increase workflow efficiency. My main problem is using the point attribute features to get the most out of using starnet. Any suggestions on how to properly collect the info so there is minimal manipulation of the raw data would be greatly appreciated. I use Stonex receivers, topcon total station, field genius software, starnet and then Carlson.
