That's really awesome Daryl......
Hot diggity! Well done good sir.
Number One in the good ol' U S of A
Took a bunch a furryners to gang up on ya.
Coarse, yuse kinda a furryner yerself.
Congratulations. I would of voted 1st place for you...
Daryl,
Your pics beat a guy on a horse and a hawk on a gun every day of the week and twice on Sunday's.
How is the weather out west? After a sucky summer, Wisconsin's weather is finally coming around to being Surveyor Friendly again.
Have a beer on me for the win.
Bob
Congrats Daryl!
Out of the four photos, I like yours the best.
Ah, you should have at least gotten a 2nd on that. Strap up a good lookin fart like me on that horse and you are in!! 🙂
`
Always enjoy your pictures.
🙂 :good: 😀 Congratulations
It's hard to beat the animals. May be you could rub your rover in some fish guts and get a great picture of a bear chasing you!
Keep up the great work, always enjoy sharing your photos with my kids.
Scott

Indeed. As William Randolph Hearst said:
> Got third runner up in Topcon's photo contest ... got beat out by a cityscape, a bird, and a horse ...
Hey! *I* should have been first runner-up, since I had *two* birds on my Topcon:
(Of course, it might have helped if I'd actually entered the contest. And photographed a gun manufactured in this century. But other than that...)
hey...thats a great gun ... one of my faves ...
Thanks guys ... I appreciate the comments and the laughs... we have as much fun with the cameras as we do with the surveying. I'm blessed to work with a great crew but yeah sometimes we do end up doing battle ...

Next year, woo hoo!

Well, Daryl, next time try photoshopping in a bunch of laser scanners into the Alaskan wilderness. Ideally, the Topcon product should not be less than two weeks on the market, a month at the outside, and fill at least 20% of the frame. Keep these simple rules in mind and the competition won't have a chance.

Oh man Bob...the weather in Oregon this week has been "Hot" ... at least for me..I've been in long johns all summer long...down here I'm dying.. (okay..small exaggeration) But up in Alaska its getting pounded pretty good right now ..They're moving commercial aircraft to Fairbanks to avoid wind shear and heavy turbulence conditions ... I'm heading back up there soonly..
Congrats Daryl!
Chr.
your picture is #1, Topcon did not really care about artistic value of the picture. They just wanted the picture of their instrument to be big enough, and the 30% one took the first place for this reason and then by the sizes down 🙂
I think you got it there, Yuriy. The winning photo was definitely staged specifically for the contest I bet.
Daryls pictures are some of the best I've seen. I always look forward to his photo blogs. (Too bad that helicopter wasn't made by topcon 😉 )
