And what are your thoughts or experience with it? Curious to see if they are widely used and what the issues might be if any...thanks
have a tesla. sits on the shelf now. topons software is garbage. the tesla does weird things and freezes up all the time. the screen is so big it acts like a big reflector and is impossible to see in the sunlight. they keep pushing it on us but have had WAY better luck and reliability with the TSC3/RANGER/NOMAD. sure the screens arent as big but they get the job done EVERY day. and not having a keypad on the tesla is a huge pain for us. i guess it really depends on what your doing perhaps no keypad isnt an issue.
if i could get survey pro onto the tesla i would give it another shot. but its hardware locked.
also have a mesa i picked up at an auction. looks like the same thing to me but havent used it.
oh both are for sale if you want one

we tested it and found it too big, too heavy, and I can't stand DC's without actual physical keyboards.
We ran Carlson SurvCE 3.0 on it, and it was fine regarding the software, but the form factor was not what we wanted on our rod.
But...it does have a nice big screen.
I'm running a Tesla with a Topcon robot. Coming from TDS/Carlson experience I was up and running in minutes. The Topcon software is about the same with a few quirks here and there (If someone could tell me how to COGO by bearing/dist rather than converting azimuths all day long it would be better). I absolutely love the big screen and it makes the onscreen keyboard easier to use. No hard keyboard but that isn't as big of a deal to me as it is to some.
Don't know about on the Tesla, but on TopSURV 7.5, go to configure, then display, then click on "Disp Dir As" select Bearing.

Same here. We still have Rangers and TDS, but now use the Tesla with Topcon IS-1.
Of course, it's my survey crew that is using it every day, but from the use I have done, I like it, and I'm a hard keyboard guy. The crew seems to like it a lot.
Can you send me a message about the units you have for sale? Thanks. Al
We tested the Tesla. Didn't care for the screen, couldn't read it in the sun. Bought the FC-500 with Magnet. So far so good, been using it everyday for 3 months and haven't had any problems. Love the screen in direct sun light. With the soft touch stylus you don't have to worry as much about the screen getting scratched up. It doesn't have a key board but that hasn't been an issue yet with as large as the screen is and it has enough keys if you get screwed up they can get you out of trouble.
The Tesla is too big for us.
The "can't see the screen in the sun issue."
There is a setting in a weird place.
Go to settings > Home > Appearance.
Play with those settings, the display is better out in the sun.

Would appreciate info on the unit for sale, if still available. E-mail is in profile...
Thanks,

BOOM...That makes life easier, Thanks!
Glad it helped.
you can switch between azimuths/bearings in configure/global
