A copy is on eBay at a good price:
Can't beat that.
Sure you can:
http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/reference/manuals/HistoryOfTheRectangularSystem_Searchable.pdf
Also at:
http://www.blm.gov/cadastral/Manual/pdffiles/histrect.pdf
(Please note this is a large file approx 46mb). Searchable pdf version of the document prepared by C.A. White.
That's not a hardback book.
And there's nothing like a hardback book!
I'm partial to actual books myself, but I've got gigabytes of pdfs too. In this instance I have both, and am grateful for both. The searchable pdf beats any index made, and the actual book contains no scanning errors. An ordinary typo here or there, maybe, but no scanning errors, which are somewhat plentiful in the pdf.
Cheers,
Henry
