Do old Leica 1101 Series Robots have any surplus, salvage or recyclable worth after the EDM goes out? The handle does make it a convenient boat anchor.

They can still turn angles, but a theodolite just doesn't have any value in a production surveying environment these days.?ÿ They're great for casually looking at the moon, though.

I think I have 7 legacy guns just sitting around.?ÿ I did use a T2000 on an antenna alignment job about 5 years ago, though.

@jim-frame

Jim, Given near equal price. Would you buy a Geomax Zoom 90 Robotic; a new old stock Leica TS12; or a Leica TS13 with only the the lock, search and find modules added? All with Carlson Surveyor2 and CE2.

Older equipment always looks good on a shelf or is a great conversation starter.

@oldpacer

It would depend somewhat on dealer location - if I had a Leica dealer close by I *might* lean toward the NOS TS12.  But I don't have either Leica of GeoMax dealers near me, so all my instruments have to be shipped for purchase and service. That being the case, the Zoom 90 would be my clear choice. I own both Leica and GeoMax, and I can't find any difference in build quality, accuracy or general performance.
