Came across a stash of these in our office dungeon.
Any value?

Only if they're nailed to a Bearing Tree!
Even then... Often I find FS BTs, but no record, either recorded or at the FS office.
What confounds me even more, is when the FS BT is one tree over from the plainly visible official GLO/BLM BT.

Roger that!
Back in my USFS days we only put those on recovered "original BTs," but I suppose that the contrary can be shown. If (maybe BIG IF) the Bearing & Distance is scribed on the "tag" (like it's supposed to be), then that would certainly help.

Put 'em on ebay somebody will buy them. ?????ÿ

True 'dat! I once was investigated by the FBI for displaying a wooden USFS sign on my porch. I'd gotten it when I was tasked with hauling a pickup load of junk from the boneyard to the dump. I asked my boss if I could keep the obsolete sign and he said yes. Three years later 2 agents came calling and they were not happy because their office was in a town 100 miles away. They corroborated my story with my former boss so I was not charged.

Oh Jesus. All of the old porcelain Nation Park Boundary plaques I've collected belong to the feds? I'm in trouble. Along with all the US Forestry Service No Trespassing Signs, Department of Defense Military Installation (Use of Deadly Force is Authorized) and scads of other memorabilia I'm in BIG trouble. Not to mention all the various rusted "NO TRESPASSING" signs I've borrowed from private individuals over the years.
I guess the steel signs that use to hang from the ten-pin wires along the tracks that say Western Union Property - DO NOT SHOOT AT WIRES probably belong to the Western Union Company also. My favorite is the one that has a bullet hole through one of the "Os" in the word shoot.
OK. I'll admit others may have claim to my collection of placards and signs. But I've kept them safe and dry all these years. They are welcome to their property for "storage & maintenance" fees.... 😉
