Don't know if there is a sanctioned BeerLeg/Surveyorconnect meetup planned for this convention, but I will be there beginning Thursday afternoon/evening. Hope to see some of you there.

I'll be there...I'll look for you.
I won't be there this year. Have a company function to go to in Fort Worth.
Have fun.B-)
Look for young Norman Oklahoma (Nathan Mayer) manning the Leica dealer's booth.
I will be there friday morning Andy - doing the GLO resources class - hope to see you running around..
Heck Andy - we all threw a party for you last year in Dallas and you didn't show up. This year, the party is on you, baby! When/where are you going to have it?
Where/When
I don't know the layout there. I'm actually staying at the LaQuinta in San Marcos proper. I'm sure there is a lounge or restaurant somewhere there. [sarcasm]Or something at the factory outlet malls[/sarcasm]. First person there find a place pick a time. My Thursday evening is open. Don't think I'm going to do the wine guys tour on Friday either. So I'm open for suggestions.
Embassy Suites Lounge/Restaurant 6:00pm Thursday
I move we convene at Embassy Suites Lounge/Restaurant 6:00pm Thursday. I see there is a nightly manager's reception which has complimentary cocktails. Also, the TSPS President's reception is at 7pm, so we can move the gathering there if a quorum of attendees is present and a motion and vote to do so are passed.
Hope to see you all there. There is a chance we can get a bus over to Austin to plant pincushion corners in Kent McM's yard after dark, so plan for a possible field trip. 😉
I see on Thursday there is also a SmartNet Users Group Meeting at 5pm in the San Marcos River Room and Texas RTK Cooperative Users Group Meeting at 5pm, but their's is a secret cause they didn't post the location on their flyer.
As previously mentioned, the President's Reception is 7-9pm
If anyone has a better date or time, please speak up.

I'll look for you in the Lounge at 6 (or maybe before), but I am old and I used to eating supper pretty regularly, so you may have to carry on without me after 7.

Where/When
Bryan:
Is Driftwood where they have mini-helicopters doing photogrammetry?
Jeff
My dad just read that and wanted me to remind you about the Corpus convention in 97 and something about you, him, a few others, a case of beer, the lady lex and some time frame well into the next morning.
In other words, suck it up old man! 🙂
Kris
We were late getting back, because some guy named Kirk R. got lost wandering around on the USS Lexington (Lady Lex) looking for the restroom. He never found it, but didn't seem to need to go once we got back to the bus. We weren't asking any questions about it either. I hear Mamacita's calling my name from San Marcos right now.
Where/When
This bustling metropolis qualifies for two stop signs, and not even a flashing yellow traffic light. I like to elevate myself into thinking I'm in tune with the current happenings here, but I am not aware of the small hovering helos. I have a local organic gardener friend with several new greenhouses on his place. He had the "black helicopters" buzzing him, making several low passes a couple of months back. With my diminishing eyesight and current dove hunting license, I have not bagged any either.
We do have the World Famous Salt Lick Barbecue-cash only/no checks or credit cards & byob. Also the Driftwood Winery and the Duchman Family Winery/Trattoria Lisina (real nice), started by Damian Mandola (his nephew, Johnny Carabba). The Trattoria is located in the Wm. Barret Travis Survey (Texas Original Land Grant). Travis was the Texican commander at the Alamo. The grant was a Veteran Donation to his heirs for his military service.
Also, the convention and above is in Hays County, named after John Coffee "Jack" Hays, Texas Ranger and surveyor. My kids go to Hays High School (Go Rebels!).

Across from the Salt Lick, we have Camp Ben McCulloch, the last Confederate Reunion Camp owned by the Sons and Daughters of the Confederacy. Ben was a Confederate General, Texas Ranger and surveyor.

Bring plenty of business cards Mr. Doyle, I (among others I'm sure) would like to swap.
