Can anybody tell me if there there is a settings backup file for the TSC2? It would be nice if all the settings were stored in one file. Seems that the gremlins occasionally get into our system and change things. A one-file backup would be nice.

Sir,
I don't know of such a backup file for Trimble Acces.
I have a copy of the Trimble DataSystem Files from each unit.
this place holds all system files and survey styles, I never needed them so far.

Why don't you use office sync, it comes with TBC, every time you plug your tsc2 into a computer running office sync, it recognizes the controller and syncs the files from the controller onto the PC, it does both the data files and system files, so you have a copy of your styles and your jobs.

If you delete jobs off the controller, it moves them on the pc to the backup folder.

Each controller will have its own backup system.

Everyday we get back to base , the first order of business is sync the controllers with the PC's. I dont want to have to go back and reshoot a job due to bad file handling on a controller or if it dies or gets stolen.

Take a look at the file config.cfg on Access or sc12xx.cfg if you are on Survey Controller
it lives in the login directory name for Access or Trimble Data on SC
it is full of all your settings like all prism info, correction settings, export settings etc so could be copied to another controller or sent back to your controller if settings get messed up
it is ASCII so opens in notepad
