The company I currently work for has just purchased two Trimble TSC3 controllers and we cannot figure out the survey style settings to pair them up with our Leica 803 and 805 guns. Has anyone else ran into this problem or figured out a solution. It is a huge inconvenience for us not being able to go from GPS to EDM.

I was always under the impression that the arch rivals Trimble & Leica have never played well together, and aren't really working on solving issues on their own. No doubt somebody here will have a work around

Good luck

Trimble doesn't play well with anyone.

I got a TSC2 to work with an old Leica 800. This was over a year ago, but if you are using Survey Controller, go to configuration, then survey styles. At the bottom click the new button and add conventional. Select Leica and I believe the TC800 for instrument. The problem with the connection is probably the baud rate. Check the Total Station's manual, this should state what the default setting are. You might have to play around with it a bit.

When we purchased the two new TSC3 collectors we also had our TSC2 updated to Trimble Access. Prior to that when we were running survey controller they would pair up after a little dance and sacrificing a chicken. We think the new Trimble Access is the culprit behind all of this.

If you create a new survey style for your Leica isn't there a choice for Leica 800 in the instrument selection?

Having said that...I have had to dance in circles with a few dead chickens to get Leica total stations to work with Trimble Controllers....usually happens...but sometimes you have lots of settings on the Leica to configure...baud rate...ect.
