I was actually doing that yesterday (4-10's, so my Friday).... ????????
I was doing that in a ravine the last day I was in the field, trying to mark one more line point.?ÿ
Wendell,
Last shot on a Friday? The sun appears to be high in the sky. Maybe after a bit of early day drinking.
I cannot see what is behind the camera, so I may be out of line here.
I think that this is a case of trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist. I see flat ground and a clear satellite sky. Why would one be holding that receiver in the air like that? To get closer to the satellites for a better signal? Unless that receiver has a prism attached and that prism has an obstacle between it and a total station, I don't see the point.
Unless that is another YouTube "expert" posting videos on how precision surveying is done, like that guy with the sticks in the ground.?ÿTo each his own.

if he had an R10 or R12 he could do Xfill and get the shot.
That was me on Thursday, with the exception the that rod with bipod was on the ground and I was standing precariously on my tippy toes on a large bolder holding the CS20 up in the air twisted just so to get mobile coverage for 3 minutes of RTK.
