One of our Topcon DL-502 digital levels is failing to communicate with an FC-5000 field controller running MAGNET Field software. We know for sure it isn't the level or the cables (USB and RS-232C). I'm assuming the problem is with the FC-5000. I don't want to give up my FC-5000 so the FC-5000 in question can get sent to the shop. Any suggestions for a fix?
We've never connected a digital level to the FC before, is this for field work or just to dump the data at day's end? does the FC5000 usb port work with other devices? If not, then there's your problem, if it does, well you'd think it might be a level/cable issue.?ÿ
I have an sdl30 and connect to magnet with an Bluetooth dongle. Ask your supplier as I don't know if this will work with your field book.?ÿ
Give me a call and I will explain how to connect a DL-502 to FC5000 and Magnet with Bluetooth, no cables. Your dealer will NOT help you with this.
@leegreen why wouldn't the topcon dealer want to help him. Here in Belgium they are always willing to find solutions.?ÿ
Because the Topcon dealer thinks they need to sell you a Bluetooth enabled Digital Level. Which cost nearly twice as much as the DL-502. I can't disclose this process online, as Topcon may disable it in future releases of software, as they have done in the past.
